If there's one thing we're famous for, it's joyful prints – each one is lovingly created to feel like your very own piece of art. This beautiful floral is no exception. The talented artists in our London HQ have pored over every petal, feather and blade of grass to create this tribute to the English countryside. Here, Boden print designer Sholto reveals how his idea was sketched to life.
‘The countryside is my studio’
This print was hand-drawn for a unique look you won't find anywhere else. ‘I like to go outside and sketch directly from nature. The rolling hills and valleys of Wiltshire are so full of wildlife and an amazing way to get fresh ideas,’ Sholto says.
The print by numbers
‘I adore Victorian books on British flora’
‘You'll often find me immersed in beautiful old books on wildflowers and plants,’ says Sholto. ‘The drawings are so painstakingly detailed.’ To keep his designs modern, Sholto gave his glorious florals a bold graphic outline.
‘The colour palette was inspired by vintage scarves’
Once the print was ready, the colours needed to be decided. The team carefully chose vibrant shades that would complement the seasonal colour palette – so you can be sure it will shine alongside other pieces from the collection.
