The leather care guide
Smooth, mirror-glossy, strokable… Our leather is a tactile experience. And we know how to keep it looking as good as it feels.
Finished leather
A quick wipe down with a damp sponge will lift off any dirt. When the surface is dry, use a cloth to work in a shoe polish that’s neutral or close in colour to your item – make sure you get into all those seams and creases. For a satisfying sheen, buff gently with a leather brush.
Coated and patent leather
Mostly used for bags and footwear, these leather types have a super-glossy finish. Simply remove smudges and marks by wiping the surface lightly with a damp cloth. Instant shoe polish can help to keep them seriously shiny.
Pony leather
Also known as hair-on hide, this material is naturally textured. Wipe up spillages quickly with a dry, absorbent cloth or sponge. Use a mild soap solution on stains – but test a small area first to make sure printed elements aren’t damaged. Remove stuck-on nasties very gently with a rubber suede brush.
